Carrie has always had a tender appreciation for words, estimating them to be one of God’s greatest gifts. She is fascinated by the unique power language has to capture truth, to connect individuals to one another, and to shape entire cultures!
Teaching with empathy, imagination, and humor, Carrie delights to lead students on literary adventures across space and time. As her students examine excellent works of literature and ask meaningful questions, they will grow in the ability to express themselves with confidence as well as to relate to the external world with deeper understanding and love for the One who created it by His Word.
As an undergraduate, Carrie earned bachelor’s degrees in English and in Biblical and Religious Studies from Grove City College. Now happily married to her college sweetheart, Jonathan, Carrie enjoys spending her spare time hosting game nights, trying new recipes, playing piano, painting with watercolors, or curling up with warm coffee and a good book!
