Jana has a deep love for classical education and enjoys helping sweet, wide-eyed students navigate through what can sometimes be challenging academic years. She believes the relationship between student and teacher is special because at just the right moment, the teacher can capture curiosity and help students embrace, develop and expand it. Jana seeks to encourage students’ love of learning as they study literature and history from a biblical worldview and work through their faith and understanding of the world.

Jana is an Austin, Texas, native and began her teaching career at Anderson High School after graduating from St. Edward’s University. Over the years she has gained experience in public, private and online education. Jana and her husband, Kevin, have two children who attended Regents School of Austin, a classical Christian school, since kindergarten (Jacob, ‘18 and Ella ’22). She worked at Regents both in and out of the classroom for over fourteen years, serving as the 8th Grade Dean of Students, as a 7th and 8th grade English teacher, on the curriculum development teams for reading, literature and composition and as an ever-present volunteer in the years prior to joining Regents’ staff.
