Kathy Sweet is a Southern California girl who tried to be an East Coaster but has recently landed in Austin, Texas. After graduating from California State Polytechnic University at Pomona with a BA in English Education, she moved to New York City to get her Master’s in Literature from Hunter College on the Upper Eastside. After a brief stint in Florida where she taught high school English, she and her husband landed back in NYC where her husband was on staff at a church in Brooklyn. All three of their kids were born there while she taught for a high school prep program for at-risk teens. After her husband took a call to a church in Northern California, she had a period of working as a substitute teacher at her children’s elementary school. Now in Austin, Texas, she is excited to be at Wilson Hill Academy.
She is a runner, reader, crafter, and loves watching all three of her kids play soccer. She and her family have visited 10 national parks and enjoy listening to audiobooks on their various road trips. She has run three marathons, has been married for 18 years and wants to visit Paris, France, one day with her husband.
