PORTRAIT OF A WILSON HILL GRADUATE

Education is formation, shaping not just what students know but who they become.

Our graduates are unique in personality, gifts and calling, but they share common attributes that distinguish them from their peers. At Wilson Hill, students develop a biblically grounded academic foundation built to last a lifetime, becoming graduates who:

View the world through a biblical lens

Our master teachers anchor their teaching in Scripture, allowing the truth of the Gospel to inform learning and not the other way around, giving students an integrated, robust framework for interpreting the world around them, discerning truth and marveling in God’s character and creation.

Diligently practice scholarly habits with genuine delight

All Wilson Hill courses equip students with the tools of learning, cultivating scholarly skills and habits like observation, imitation, recitation, invention, analysis and eloquence—nurturing a lifelong delight in learning and mastery.

Think and reason with depth and precision

Studying classical languages, literature, and art invites students into conversation with the great thinkers and writers of the past, helping them become critical thinkers who approach texts and ideas with historical understanding and intellectual sharpness.

Seek to glorify God in everything they do

Above all, a Wilson Hill education aims to equip students to live fruitful lives in service to the Kingdom of God, bringing Him glory in their worship, work, relationships and hobbies. Wilson Hill graduates invest in their relationship with the Lord and seek the flourishing of their communities wherever they go.

Communicate with wisdom, eloquence and humility

Through lively socratic discussion in the classroom and the close study of the great philosophers, thinkers and writers of Western civilization, students are trained in the art of rhetoric. Grounded in a coherent biblical worldview, this training equips them to engage in thoughtful discourse—conversing, writing, persuading and defending their positions with wisdom, eloquence and humility.

Face the future with confidence and peace

A classical Christian education is not about reclaiming the glories of past civilizations but about preparing third-millennium Christians—this generation and those to come—to live faithfully in the present. Wilson Hill equips students to take their next step with confidence and purpose—whether in college, a career, or another endeavor— armed with the wisdom of the previous two millennia.

Wilson Hill equips students to pursue their calling with purpose and joy.

Sequenced Curriculum

At Wilson Hill, the curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced and paced, ensuring each course builds naturally on those that come before it. The result is well-rounded students, confident in what they have learned, ready for their next course, and equipped with a comprehensive education that prepares them for life beyond graduation.

Starting in 8th grade, students enter a robust advising program that ensures they’re on track to meet their academic and post-graduation goals. Our college admissions advisor equips families with proven strategies and helps students discern their next steps.

Christ-Centered Community

The vibrant community Wilson Hill students enjoy doesn’t end at graduation. Key experiences like Grammar Paloozas, House meetings, Junior Classical League activities and LINK unite and shape students, creating a lasting bond of friendship built on the foundation of Christ and the values of a classical education.

Luke, Class of 2018

MIT

"In terms of MIT’s academics, almost no one can be fully prepared. But Wilson Hill gave me a well-rounded perspective on my education, one that helped me approach those classes as well as I possibly could. More importantly, Wilson Hill taught me how to learn. So even though I wasn’t ready for the difficulty, the skills I gained allowed me to tackle the coursework and grasp the material much faster than many of my peers."

SENIOR THESIS

The Culmination of a Wilson Hill Education

Wilson Hill’s award-winning Senior Thesis program is the capstone of our classical Christian education—a culmination of years of study, thought and growth. Each presentation reflects months of rigorous research, careful writing, intentional revision and prayerful preparation.

In the spring, two students are honored with the Scott Baker Award for Excellence in Senior Thesis and deliver their thesis presentations before more than 600 members of the Wilson Hill community at LINK, our end-of-year gathering. This tradition of excellence extends beyond our school: In both 2023 and 2025, a Wilson Hill student was named the national winner of the Association of Classical Christian Schools Chrysostom Oratory Competition, a contest that draws exceptional student speakers nominated by classical Christian schools across the country. The winning students deliver their speeches before more than a thousand educators and leaders at the ACCS Repairing the Ruins Conference.

Scott Baker Award winner Amelia Hess (’21) presented her senior thesis at LINK 2021. She examines the Christian responsibility to engage with society, particularly in local communities and politics. As the hands and feet of Christ, she argues, believers are called to participate in all areas of public life.

Wilson Hill is one of the few online schools where students must present and defend a senior thesis to graduate, an experience that builds invaluable skills for college and beyond.

Through senior thesis, I learned to deeply ponder a topic well enough to concisely and persuasively argue for its truth. I found that writing and presenting my thesis not only changed me as a person but also prepared me well for the rigors of a college education.
