Who we are
Wilson Hill Academy is an online classical Christian school. Our website, WilsonHillAcademy.com, offers information about our school, programs, courses, events and teachers. In addition, we provide visitors with simple web forms to answer inquiries about Wilson Hill Academy. We also provide links to third party websites which separately handle registrations, video classrooms and curriculum.
Our website address is: https://www.wilsonhillacademy.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We do not typically enable visitor comments, but when and where we do, the following processes apply:
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Wilson Hill Academy manages and controls all images, PDFs, and documents presented on the Website. If you find an image that you do not approve of, you may contact us about its removal.
Wilson Hill Academy collects basic user information from several forms. These include the main Contact Form, Teacher Interest Form, EDVantage Program Form and various Hubspot Pop-Up forms designed to enhance customer engagement. The personal information we collect includes the user’s first/last name, email address, phone number, and some optional information related to the form. Completed form data may be saved on the Website, emailed to an internal WHA mailbox and/or saved in our Customer Relationship Management system hosted by Hubspot.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Like many other Web sites, www.wilsonhillacademy.com makes use of log files. These files merely log visits and visitors to the site — usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’s analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other information contained in these logs are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
A number of services provide analytics for the Website. The data collected may include, but is not limited to, your IP address, your location based on the IP address, your browser type and operating system, the pages you visit, your interactions with links and content, and the time you spend on the website (see Log Files above). Wilson Hill Academy may also pass information collected on a web form to analytics, such as your name and email.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
We rarely offer comments; however, if you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you fill out a website form, the form data and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can retain backups of visitor interactions and have access to form submissions that may have been missed or lost.
We do not have user registration on this website; however, for users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
If we ever allow comments, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
We sometimes use Constant Contact and Survey Monkey or similar services to send important information about our program. We supply these applications with email addresses submitted through our web forms. You may choose to opt-out of these emails at any time.
