Haley Story is very excited to join the team at Wilson Hill Academy for the 2016-2017 school year. Haley graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in physics from the College of William and Mary in 2002. She developed a passion for teaching during several college tutoring jobs and a summer student teaching position, but decided that having real-world research experience would ultimately make her a better teacher. After college she worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Massachusetts, then at UT Applied Research Laboratories in Austin, Texas. She left the paying work world shortly before the birth of her first son, and is now very excited to get back into science as a physics teacher. Attending ten different schools and home-school in her own K-12 years has given Haley insight into many different school philosophies, and a great appreciation for schools that value the role of family in education.

Besides physics, Haley loves math, board games, and having nerdy science conversations with her electrical engineer husband, Mark. She and Mark also enjoy teaching middle school Sunday School at their church, and, when opportunity arises, swing dancing, canoeing, playing ultimate frisbee, and hiking in the Smoky mountains. They live in Austin, Texas, and stay very busy keeping up with two great sons, Peter and Caleb.
