Caleb Pipes

“Is Physics beautiful?” That’s a question that students can expect to wrestle with in Caleb Pipes’s classes. He is convinced that these seemingly dry and complicated equations are actually beautiful and reflect their Designer. He hopes to give his students a sense of awe about the complexities of our world, pointing them to the infinite majesty of our God. He also hopes to give them confidence and mastery over Physics, inspiring them to use these tools to rule over the world that God has given us, subjugating the earth through the laws that God wove into the universe.
Caleb met his wife at Grove City College, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering – the practical application of Math and Physics. He is an alumnus of Wilson Hill Academy, and he found their online education very helpful as his family moved to several different places with the military, including multiple overseas assignments. He learned the physics behind the construction of the Parthenon and the Taj Mahal in India and Greece (ask him about it in class!), and his family’s assignments to Hawaii first inspired his love for the ocean, which he carried with him to college and beyond. Caleb will continue his studies in Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, pursuing a PhD in Fluid Mechanics.
In his spare time, Caleb loves swing dancing with his wife, reading good books (thank you TGC!) and playing complex strategy board games. He also loves jumping up to inspect complex contraptions, asking, “How does this work?”, and searching for the laws of physics that govern seemingly mundane phenomena, often to the amusement of his wife and friends.
