Students sometimes struggle with understanding the historical timeline and the cause and effect of events within that timeline. Using both narrative history and appropriate historical fiction, this class will take the students through an overview of Western Civilization, helping them to understand and see God’s hand in History since creation. The class will dive into some of the most culture-changing events and the people who have had an incredible impact on society. The students will complete the class with an understanding of how God has used people and events to accomplish His plan all throughout history. This class is an excellent foundation for launching into a deeper study of The Great Books, as it helps students understand them within their historical context.

This class is appropriate for 6th graders who are looking forward to beginning The Great Conversation in 7th grade or for 7th graders who are not quite ready to take on The Great Conversation challenge.
