This series is intended for students in grades 3-6.
Grammar Latin I
This is an introductory course designed for grammar school students. This course will help students see that learning Latin is attainable and even fun! Using Latin for Children Primer A by Classical Academic Press, students will embark on an adventure of learning the Latin language. Students will learn vocabulary, two verb conjugations, three tenses, two noun declensions, adjectives, prepositions, and basic sentence translation. Learning will be enhanced by workbooks, memory work, games, and Libellus de Historia, a history reader. Not only will these young students begin to learn Latin, they will also come away with knowledge of where their own language comes from, an enhanced English vocabulary and a deeper understanding of English grammar concepts.
Grammar Latin II
Building on concepts taught in Grammar Latin I, this course will continue to acquaint grammar age students with Latin grammar. Using Latin for Children Primer B by Classical Academic Press, students will review previously taught concepts as well as learn the third verb conjugation, the third noun declension, pronouns, imperatives, and numbers while continuing to build and review vocabulary. Emphasis will be placed on parsing verbs, nouns, and adjectives as well as labeling the parts of speech in a Latin sentence. Learning will be enhanced by worksheets, memory work, games, and Libellus de Historia, a history reader. Students will increase their knowledge and love of the Latin language and, at the same time, increase their understanding of their own English language.
Grammar Latin III
This course is designed for grammar school students who have completed Grammar Latin II or its equivalent. Using Latin for Children Primer C (this book is being updated, and please do not purchase until the new 2020 version is available) by Classical Academic Press, students will review previously taught concepts as well as add one verb conjugation, two noun declensions, three tenses, adjectives and adverbs while continuing to build and review vocabulary. This course will pull together all that the students have learned in grammar stage Latin and will emphasize sentence translating and labeling. Learning will be enhanced by workbooks, memory work, and games. Using Cambridge Latin Course Unit I as a reader, students will enjoy reading through Latin stories and learning about related Roman history and culture. Students completing Grammar Latin III will be well prepared for Latin 1 in the School of Logic.
